From nature to your cup

Valverbe Agricultural Cooperative brings together the tradition of medicinal herbs with advanced production technologies.

It was founded in 1985 in Bellino – 1500 m above sea level in upper Varaita Valley (Piedmont) – an unspoiled setting, a pearl of Alpine architecture, where man and nature find the right balance in mutual respect.
Dedicated to the cultivation, drying and processing of organic medicinal herbs, Valverbe is currently based in Melle, middle Varaita Valley.
Particularly known for its “mountain herbal teas”, Valverbe is involved in the whole production chain, from the cultivation of the herbs to the finished product packed in teabags.

From seeds to teabags

Valverbe takes care of the entire production cycle from the sowing to the finished product.

Valverbe’s organic, non-GMO and freshly harvested herbs are dried using an
innovative “open-cell” system, that removes the water but keeps the cellular
membrane intact, and maintains the active ingredients, the aroma and the flavour:
a true revolution compared with the traditional drying system, with amazing results!
This method allows the dried herbs to swell and regain the turgor of the fresh plant,
creating the optimal conditions for an effective extraction process when preparing the herbal tea.

PRODUCTION CHAIN

Valverbe is involved in the whole production chain, from the cultivation of the herbs to the finished product, ensuring continual control over all stages of the production cycle, including the more delicate ones such as harvesting the herbs at the balsamic time and drying.

OPEN-CELL DRYING PROCESS

The herbs are dried using an innovative, technological CFT plant that allows for “open cell” dehydration. This process, because it does not cause the cell membrane to rupture, preserves all its properties intact in the dried plant, allowing, with rehydration, the turgidity of the fresh plant to be restored, benefiting the quality of the infusion.

ORGANIC COTTON THREAD

Each teabag and its tag are connected by an organic cotton thread. This choice reflects the company’s philosophy about customer care and it is also a coherent response to the fact that conventional cotton is one of the world’s most chemically intensive crop, while heavy metals and highly toxic mineral oils are often used as part of the cotton dyeing process.

MOUNTAIN PRODUCT

In the Alpine valleys surrounding the Monviso VALVERBE grows, dries and packages its filtered herbal teas.

BACTERIAL LOAD CONTROL

The reduction of bacterial load in our blends is achieved through an innovative dry sanitization technique. The product is overheated in a tunnel at 85°C, reducing the bacterial load without damaging the product.

GREEN ENERGY

VALVERBE installed a 27 KWP photovoltaic system, so that the energy required for drying the herbs and packaging does not contribute to the increase of pollution: ORGANIC and ECO-FRIENDLY herbal teas.

NO GLUE OR METAL STAPLE

Our teabags are sealed without glue or metal staples
